After all the huge changes in my life recently, I needed to get out of Dodge for awhile and what better place then to visit George in NYC! I had two main goals for this trip: #1 Get drunk... frequently and #2 Break my hot dog consumption record of 27 hot dogs in 4 days. I also wanted to experience and real winter, with snow and Rockefeller Center.

So I had been dreaming about the 350z since my cousin informed me months ago that he was selling it. I loosely considered, but kept making up excuses for why I shouldn't have the car (gas, maintenance, and insurance hikes), until 3 weeks ago when I woke up one morning and decided that I was destined it. I immediately posted up the Scion TC and within seven days had the car sold. The best part was that I was able to break even on the whole trade.

Nerrissa and I thought we were seasoned veterans of the LOJ Ball, having attended 3 of the last 4 years, but this year's event was insane. Almost everyone that came had detailed and elaborate costumes that looked like they took weeks to create. Riss and I put ours together in just a few hours and thought that it would suffice, but we got almost no attention =( We're gonna start building our costumes right now for LOJ '09.

Last Sunday was spent doing charity work at the Sierra Vista Elementary School in El Serreno. It was blazing hot outside but loads of awesome volunteers still made it out. The definite hilight for me was the taco truck.. I'm always a sucker for the carne asada tacos =) I can't remember the last time I painted but it was sure a lot of fun trying to convert the blank canvases into inspiring pieces for all the children.

I was quite surprised to receive the invitation to Ellen and Daryl's wedding reception because it had been almost 15 years since I'd seen most my dad's family. The last time I hung out with the family, Dan still had hair, baggy pants, and my biggest aspiration was getting a California Driver's License.
